Biography

Tao Chen joined the Tropical Clinical Trial Unit(tCTU), Liverpool School of Tropic Medicine as a medical statistician since October 2016. Prior to his role at tCTU, he was a research associate in medical statistics at Division of Health & Social Care Research, King’s College London for 1.5 years and a lecturer in epidemiology and biostatistics at Nanjing Medical University, China, for 3 years.  He also worked for a statistician for a contract research organization (iData Stat Co., Nanjing, China), which specialized in providing data management and analysis for pharmaceutical companies for more than 3 years.

His research particularly includes statistical issues in design, analysis and reporting in clinical trials for medical and public health problems, especially in cardiometabolic disease. He also researches evidence synthesis models including Meta-analysis. Another area of his interest is on the trial based & model-based economic evaluation.
